How about knowing the best times to get pregnant and being able to predict when the baby dance will really create a baby? Often when we are trying to conceive we are not aware how our body functions and make decisions based on misinformation.
You might have heard from doctors that ovulation is on day 14 of your cycle, with day 1 being the day your period starts. In fact, most women have varying cycle length and ovulation can be from day 10 to day 20.When I first wanted to have a baby, the first thing I did was find an online ovulation calendar which showed me the fertile days and we tried to conceive in these days. The online ovulation calendars are based on your menstrual cycle length. If you are not keeping very good track of your cycle and it is not like clockwork, you might have difficulties, specifying the length. Moreover, even if your cycle is regular, there might be circumstances such as stress, traveling or illnesses, or even preoccupation with when you will get pregnant that affect your body and shift the cycle to make more resources available for your body to cope with the stress.
So even if the cycle length can help in detecting the ovulation, it is definitely not the most reliable one.
Much more reliable ways to predict your ovulation are to measure your basal body temperature, to understand hour your cervical mucus changes and the way cervical position indicates fertility.
If you are tired of charting and want something truly reliable, use an ovulation prediction kit and/or fertility monitor.
Research shows that if you are using the traditional ways of predicting ovulation, the best is to make sex when you have fertile cervical mucus. Cervical mucus helps the sperm survive in your body and it can wait for ovulation for up to 5 days, so your chances are greater with this methods than with estimating the length of your cycle or charting only basal body temperature.
do not wait for ovulation to happen to baby dance. Why? When ovulation happens you have no more than 24 hours to get pregnant. So this might not be one of the best times to get pregnant. You might have notices that you are ovulation, after ovulation has occurred and it is too late.
Research indicated that the days before ovulation are indeed the best times to get pregnant.
Also something you might not be aware of is that the sperm quality and quantity also depends on the timing of your intercourse. If you are having intercourse every two days, the sperm quality peaks. After 10 days of abstinence, however, the sperm quality deteriorates. If you are making sex every day though, the sperm might not be very good.
If you waited for ovulation signs and wanted to have just one shot for a boy, this might also not result in good sperm. You might be at your most fertile time, but he might not be at his peak.
