Unassisted Childbirth Unassisted Birth

Unassisted childbirth unassisted birth -- this is the story of Clair. I can relate to her so much. I was a sort of a pioneer about unassisted birth in my country. No one did it intentionally here. There was truly no support. My family -- my mother and my sister were so afraid of it. My husband was also very hesitant, but realized that this was a firm decision and did his best to learn and be next to me. It was much easier with my next two unassisted births. After I told women about my first birth, some were inspired and followed my example. Every year there are about 3 to 5 unassisted births that I know of, and possibly much more.

Here are some of the comments about the unassisted childbirth unassisted birth:

"I had baby #1 with a lovely midwife at home, babies #2 and #3 unassisted at home. I would not want to do it any other way again. If you're healthy, free birthing is a great option! "

"i had a midwife...but only because my husband didnt want me to have a home birth alone...boooo. but my midwife was wonderful. "

"when was this filmed? Because in Washington state there are more and more births like this all the time. My sister in law did this 3 years ago with only her husband and had no problems with ppl getting angry. To have a baby in hospital its $40,000 with no complication and $3,000 to have a home birth with a midwife. I say screw it and do it for free at home "

I feel sorry for people who have been brainwashed into believing that having a birth is a panic situation. It is a natural process we were designed to go through. Good for her for standing up for herself to do it the way she wants. In our modern world, fear, panic, and modern medicine have caused the MOST trouble for births. Get the facts, if you dare. "

"Wow. Borderline child neglect. Reading a book or two suddenly makes you an OB/Gyn? "

"OB/Gyn's are not what these women wish to have in their birthing space, for obvious reasons. "

"I totally agree with what she says about midwives being totally focused on their machinery.
I also noticed the students being totally focused on themselves when i was in a maternity ward.
Could not wait to get out of that Epsom hospital.. "

"My mom gave birth to me a home. and i am just fine.
I think i wil do the same with my child.
In holland 70% of the babys borne are born a home.
You even have midwives the only to birth at the home of the mother

"Maybe it's the cultural difference, maybe not, but from my understandings midwives are of the parents' choosing. You meet with them and talk about what everyone's feelings are and how the whole process will be handled. If you are unsure if you like the midwife's policies then you keep looking. She seems to have had a very bad experience where communication was lacking between her and the hospital staff which problematic in any locale."

"They did a great job on this series! I was worried that they would show unassisted birthers in a negative light, but this is fantastic! I also gave birth unassisted at home while my husband watched. Unassisted birth is so easy and gentle and quiet. There isn't the terror and stress of the hospital to deal with."

"Both of my children were born this way into my husbands hands. All I can say is it is very calm unlike all the hospital births I hear about."

"So glad to see this posted! I'm in this film as well but haven't gotten my copy. Regarding the MD's comment that she's concerned that women or babies will die in a freebirth, yes, occasionally this happens. But both the maternal and infant mortality rates in hospitals have gone up drastically in the past 10 years, primarily due to unnecessary inductions and c-sections. Nine pregnant women were interviewed for this program and all 9 successfully gave birth unassisted. Freebirth is a safe choice."
