Unassisted video clips home childbirth offer a new hope and a demosntration of what is normal. For thousands of years the human race was coping with birth without interventions. Why? Because women, like all other female species are made to give birth and to thrive. Birth is neither created as a painful and unnatural, nor it is extraordinary or a special medical condition.
Birth is as easy as the growing of the baby in the womb and our bodies are equiped with everything to go through this process and be able to take care of our children.
"Unlike you I havent' yet had a home delivery-I've allowed myself to be forsed through all the 'hospital policies' and been through having doctors tell me how my body should or shouldn't handle the birth process.
My next baby (when I have another) will deffinently be a home delivery..Birth shouldn't be treated like a medical emergency or have a lineup of how it should go-it's a beautiful thing and when approached with respect can be a wonderful experience.
Congrats:) "
"Hospital birth is relatively new thing, historically. The statistics do not bear out that hospital birth is safer as there is so much intervention in the birth. The normal statistics that are cited comparing hospital and home birth compare 3rd world countries with a malnourished maternal population (home birth) to developed countries with relatively good nutrition (hospital). When the statistics compare developed countries and home birth with hospital births, a different result occurs."
"ooh wow you guys lol
how do you think they did it in the old days??
"oh honey, my water broke!"
"no worries dear, ill put you into our covered wagon and haul you to the nearest hospital!! =D""
"this video is really great and the song is perfect. the song is beautiful as is this baby u have brought into the world.Good job to the mother.your daughter is beautiful as well "
"I would say more stupid than brave. i know some midwifes can be a nightmare but i would never put my baby at risk you cant know everything and read every book and be an expert in a few months these guys were lucky but dont let this tempt you. into doing something risky think long and hard before you put your own and your babys life in serious danger!!! "
"Doing your homework for nine months and understanding that birth is a process that is meant to be is NOT putting your baby at risk. For a normal healthy pregnant women with no complications, this is the SAFEST birth for baby. Seems to me YOU are the one needing to do your research."
"What an amazing experience! I delivered 6 months ago in a hospital. My water broke spontaneously at 0800 and I didn't deliver until 2302 after 3 hours of pushing and vacuum extraction. My labor was "overmanaged" like you said. I got an intrapartum fever, and my baby had to go to the NICU. I would have loved to have been able to do what your family did. And the pool water is not a big deal. People just need to get a grip. They just don't understand what it's like to be in the moment like that. "
"I have a concern about allowing other people into the birth water while the mother is still in the pool. It is my understanding that there is a high risk of introducing infection into the mother's unprotected womb from any bacteria present on the other people. "
"We thoroughly researched water birth and found no references to that "risk". The flow from the mother is going out, it is unlikely that anything is going in and up. There is a much greater danger of infection from the repeat internal exams that happen in labors that are over-managed. We live with these children so it is unlikely they are carrying any organisms that the mother isn't also carrying."
"congratulations on such a beautiful new addition to your already lovely family. my husband and i have been together for 7 years, and we so desperately want a baby. i came across your video because i'm researching different birthing techniques, i and just had to compliment your lovely family. we're still waiting on our first! :)"
"This is Beautiful! Congrats on the healthy baby and beautiful birth!
Did you try the tincture "hemhalt" to stop the bleeding? I plan to use that with my next birth (UC this feb) "
"No. We had some tinctures on hand and used some, but hemhalt was not one of them. "
"arent you scared that the baby will choke and die in the water?.. what if something went wroung werent you guys scared?..."
"Babies don't choke in their mother's womb and there is no air in there. They do take their first breath when air hits their face. Being pushed out under water, they don't contact anything that would stir them to take their first breath. If we did something like allow them up and then back down into the water, then they would try to take a breath.
Scared? This was our third without a midwife and my wife's sixth at home. We study constantly.

"hi im planning on haveing a water birth for my baby girl on the 8 november do you have any idea of what it feels like its my first time can anyone tell me before the big day."
"It's different for everyone. The main thing to think on is that your body is designed to give birth. It's a natural function so you CAN do it!"
"Wow thank you SO much for sharing this with us. I though it was so beautiful how you just lifted the baby out of the water it was awesome. I made my hubby watch this with me since were planning an unassisted birth. Good job daddy and momma. Hemorrhage is a super scary thing I am so glad all is well now : )"
"What was the cause of the near death experience? - excessive bleeding? How was it remedied? - by going to the hospital? "
"Post partum hemorrhage a couple of hours after the birth. Docs aren't even sure what caused it. Manual evacuation of the uterus stopped the bleeding, so it could have been a clot or small piece of retained membrane. (not placenta). Treatment was done in the hospital ER"
"where did you get your pool. i can't seem to find one the right size."
"Bi-Mart. It's just a high walled kiddie pool. It's the Intex Ocean Reef pool. $12 on sale. Until this last one, the average cost of my kids being born was like $25."
"Congratulations on a wonderful unhindered birth! We're planning our second UC in November. How did that pool work out for you? I was thinking of getting the exact same one.
Note to others : Waterbirth babies sometimes take a little longer to breath on their own, it didn't appear to be a near death experience. All more reason not to cut the cord immediately :)"
"He did start breathing right away, as he can be heard crying on the video clip. But he would have been fine even if he didn't breathe right away, as you said. He was getting oxygen through the cord, just as he did while growing inside the womb. Mom was the one who had the "near death experience" a couple of hours later."
"Well, we were concerned at the time, but she lived and continues to thrive, so now we can look back and choose to focus on the beauty and simplicity of the birth rather than the scary moments that happened later. Thanks for your concern, though!"
