In my own experience the third phase was painless. My body knew how to do it. The position I took was the best for the birth and made it easy for the baby to slip through the birth canal.

Women giving birth at home unassisted testify that if the mother and baby are healthy and have all the necessary prenatal care and the mother is fully educated on labour and birth, a home birth is a wonderful empowering experience.
